I'm trying to get a treatment done but they are claiming it is a pre-existing condition. I would have to have had UNIMED for two years in order to get the treatment. Well, I had a UNIMED - Rio policy for about a year starting in 2008, then when my employer provided coverage I was switched to a UNIMED - Fluminense policy. The fact that I have been writing checks to UNIMED for three years is not enough - they are insisting that I have the same policy for the two year period.
