Are you fluent in Portuguese? Test yourself! :)

Song- Eduardo e Monica ( Legiao Urbana - Renato Russo)
AWESOME VIVO AD!!!
Renato Russo was a great Carioca, who lived in Queens, New York and then came back to Rio with his family before they moved to Brasilia.
Renato Russo and his band Legiao Urbana were definitely one of the biggest talents in the Brazilian music world.
This song tells a great love story between a young Brazilian couple called Eduardo and Monica.
If you are no longer a beginner in Portuguese, you will be able to understand the love story and enjoy it.
If you miss parts of it, I think this video is a great practice to improve on your Portuguese, it is very well done and very visual, everything being described in the song is directly related to the video you are seeing.

Enjoy! :)

I like it! And I see we're both moving to Brasilia? :)

Isn't it cool!
I admit that I never understood some pieces of the song until I saw the video and I am a native.
But the video definitely help to clear that up ;)
I think it's great that VIVO cell phone company would invest so much in a TV AD, but they pulled it off and did a great job!

Yes, they are moving to Brasilia!
Renato Russo was a Carioca who spent part of his childhood in Queens, NY, but loved Brasilia more than any other place he ever lived.
So, the love story ends with the young couple and their kids moving to Brasilia.
Renato Russo died in 1996, from complications of AIDS.
Brazil lost a great talent!

Oh Rachel, I had no doubt you would understand it and enjoy it! :)
Heck, I am a native and I think I just understood the whole thing after watching this video and it is worth to mention that I spent my teenage years listening to this song on the radio all the time!!

Ok, so I'll have to listen to it a few more times to understand any of the Portuguese (embarrassingly enough) but very cool!

Dear B.A.B.,

You shouldn't feel embarassed at all, like I said, I am a native and had always missed many words until I saw this video with the images to help, then I think I got 95% of it. ;)
